Six retailers have been recognised from a shortlist of 28 of their peers for the 'dynamism displayed in their international expansion ' at the 11th Mapic Awards 2006 in Cannes, France.
Six retailers have been recognised from a shortlist of 28 of their peers for the 'dynamism displayed in their international expansion ' at the 11th Mapic Awards 2006 in Cannes, France.
Jack & Jones, a casual wear brand of Danish clothing company Bestseller A/S, beat off competition from six other brands to win the Clothing & Fashion Accessories category, while Smyk was awarded the prize for Leisure. Burger King took the honours in the Catering Outlet category. The award in the Services category went to Fortis-Credit4me and the White Company won in the Household & Electrical Goods category. The jury awarded the prize for the Health & Beauty category to the Body Shop.
The finalists and ultimate winners were selected by a six-person international jury presided over by Sharon Fernandez Cavada King, the director of the retail department of DTZ asesores Immobiliarios Internacionales Spain. The Mapic Awards were first held in 1996 and more than 50 international brands have been recognised with an award since then.
Earlier, Multi Development, the European developer and investor, won the EG European Retail Property Company Award 2006 at Mapic.
