TH Real Estate has announced it is opening an office in Helsinki as part of its expansion in the Nordic region and increased presence in Finland.
The announcement follows TH Real Estate's acquisition in February of a 50% stake in Kamppi, the largest shopping centre in central Helsinki. The acquisition was made on behalf of the European Cities Fund, TH Real Estate’s pan-European investment platform, launched in 2016.
'Kamppi’s prime location, store mix and favourable opportunities for continued development were a few of the factors behind our decision to scale up our position in Finland during the spring. By opening an office in Helsinki [...], we are now taking another important step into the Finnish market and further strengthening our presence in the Nordic region,' said Johan Åström, TH Real Estate’s head of investment in the Nordic region.
The company has also appointed Katja Holmström as senior portfolio manager, based in Finland. Holmström joins from real estate firm Sponda, where she served as head of Leasing. She previously worked as an associate director at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers and sales manager at NCC Property Development.
