UK-based supermarket chain Tesco has signed an agreement with the Polish unit of retail property specialist Multi Development to lease 7,000 m[sup]2[/sup] of space at Multi's 55,000 m[sup]2[/sup] Forum Koszalin development in Poland. Tesco will become the first grocery hypermarket in Koszalin, and the main tenant at the shopping centre.

Tesco will become the first grocery hypermarket in Koszalin, and the main tenant at the shopping centre.

Tesco is one of the largest retail chains in the world and the largest one in Poland. The company owns more than 3,300 stores in 12 countries. Tesco has about 300 stores with a total area of more than 500,000 m2 in Poland.

Tomasz Matusiak, managing director of Multi Development Poland, said: 'Up to now we have ensured an impressive range of tenants for the centre: Tesco, Castorama, Media Markt, Silver Screen, H&M and Gymnasion. Each one of these brands represents quality that will make Forum Koszalin number one in the whole West-Pomerania region'.

Forum Koszalin is a covered shopping centre located at the southern edge of the city. The mall has two levels of shop units, a hypermarket, a multiplex cinema, restaurants and Castorama DIY. The mall is a joint investment by Multi Development Poland and Meinl European Land. The development include 1,600 parking spaces.
