Swedish telecommunications company TeliaSonera has abandoned plans to lease its new HQ from developer NCC after it failed to get the required permits in time.
TeliaSonera was looking at NCC’s 50,000 m2 development in Kristineberg, Stockholm, but pulled out because NCC, ‘has currently not received the official permits required to meet TeliaSonera’s schedule,’ NCC has revealed.
TeliaSonera has since signed a 15-year, SEK 98 mln (€10 mln) per annum lease with listed developer Fabege for the new Scandinavian Office Building in Arenastaden, Solna, which is around 7 km north of the Swedish capital.
‘The cooperation with TeliaSonera has been close and worked well,’ said NCC’s Carola Lavén. ‘We fully understand their need to maintain their schedule. We are now moving forward with the project and the detailed development plan, so that we can offer the premises to other tenants.’
Fabege’s site is near the Mall of Scandinavia, with occupancy due for spring 2016.
‘By the time TeliaSonera moves to the new building, the offering of services in the area will match that of the city, in one of Stockholm’s best locations in terms of transport links,’ said Christian Hermelin, CEO of Fabege.
