Russia's Tashir Group opened its Rio shopping centre in the Moscow suburb of Reutov. The complex, offering 175,000 m2 of total retail space, represents an investment of $100 mln (EUR 74 mln).

The scheme is let to a number of international retailers including Zara, River Island, Snow Queen, O'stin, Insity, Ecco, Carlo Pazolini, and Euro Fashion. It also includes a multi-screen cinema, a fitness area, and a bowling area. The complex is Tashir's 13th shopping centre and the seventh opened under the Rio brand.

In the near future, the developer plans to open new Rio shopping malls in the Russian cities of Tula, Yaroslavl, Ivanovo and Vologda, it said.

Earlier in 2010, Tashir acquired the Europark shopping centre on Rublevskoe Highway in Moscow for around $60 mln and said it plans to invest over $1 bn to complete the construction of seven distressed retail development projects recently acquired in the region.
