Domestic and international investors have expressed interest in a forward funding deal to acquire a 23,000 m2 development in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen.
PropertyEU sources suggest Cushman & Wakefield is advising Danish developer, Casa, to sell the Start-up City project for approximately €110 mln.
According to those with knowledge of the situation, an investor will be chosen by the end of summer and will gain ownership of the mixed-use scheme set to be completed in 2024.
Start-up City will include a mix of housing, retail, and office space. The ambition is to turn the district into one of Europe’s most attractive hubs for entrepreneurs, being closely located to institutions such as Copenhagen Business School and Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship.
The complex will include a 13-storey building accommodating 131 apartments and 550 flexible office spaces. There will also be restaurants, a variety of retail and conference, exhibition and educational facilities.
The residential tower will comprise private apartments with common amenity space and balconies. The building will have ground-floor retail and a rooftop terrace.
With ESG guidelines in mind, several sustainable measures are incorporated in the design, such as optimized use of daylight, natural ventilation and green plants used on selected facades to act as solar screening. Also, the indoor green walls will increase biodiversity and contribute positively to the indoor climate. The project is aiming to achieve DGNB Gold certification.
