Life insurer Swiss Life has acquired the Lighthouse office project in the Rhein area of Düsseldorf-Derendorf, Germany for around EUR 30 mln. The seller is Lighthouse Development, a joint venture of developer Projektentwicklung and Rheinmetall Immobilien.

Swiss Life signed a preliminary agreement to acquire the six-storey asset in December 2009. The project, which is currently 75%-prelet, will offer around 11,000 m2 of space, of which about 9,500 m2 is for offices.
Last week, Swiss Life bought a recently developed office building in Hamburg from Hochtief Construction for an undisclosed amount. Located in Hamburg- Ochsenzoll, the NordexForum asset is an environmentally friendly building with a Gold Certificate from the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB). The property will provide around 15,000 m2 of office space on completion by the end of 2010. It is fully leased to the Nordex Group with a long-term rental agreement.
