Gothenburg city council and its municipal real estate company Higab put the Odontologen, Biotech Center and Hälsovetarback buildings on the market after the University of Gothenburg decided not to acquire them.

Totaling 53,000 m2, the properties are located in the life science cluster at the Medicinareberget campus near the Sahlgrenska University Hospital between Guldheden and Linnéstaden.

The sale of the assets, which are all let, is expected to generate at least SEK 1 bn (€95 mln). Pangea Property Partners is advising the vendors.

Pangea’s André Lundberg, head of corporate finance, said: ‘Naturally, it is up to the market to determine the price, but three major properties with solid public tenants in this location in Gothenburg is an investment opportunity that rarely comes to market. We expect that to be reflected in the price.

‘We have already received great interest for this investment opportunity and we expect to select a buyer before the summer.’

Gothenburg, with a population of about 600,000, is the largest non-capital city in the Nordics.
