Stoneweg has appointed Juan Manuel Sevillano Campalans as managing director of Stoneweg Places & Experiences, its recently launched platform focused on curating unique cultural, leisure and entertainment experiences across Europe and the US.
Sevillano brings over 28 years of experience in cultural management consulting and philanthropy in both the public and private sectors.
In his new role, he will be responsible for the platform’s growth, based in Barcelona. Alongside three initial projects, which are informed by increasing consumer demand for immersive and shared experiences and the power of physical space in an ever more digitalised world, there are a further four projects in the pipeline, including in Paris, Miami and Barcelona, which will take the total initial investment in the platform to €100 mln.
Juan previously spent 25 years as managing director of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation, one of the most respected private cultural institutions worldwide. Overseeing a 200-strong team, he was responsible for the organisation’s vision, growth strategy and leadership in both Spain and globally. He received his MBA from the IESE Business School.
Juan Manuel Sevillano Campalans commented: 'Leading this exciting venture is a tremendous opportunity to explore new ways of fostering creativity and innovation in the cultural sphere, alongside a forward-thinking business committed to elevating the consumer experience through iconic experiences. The current projects, which show the strategy in action and have been a great success, have been informed by increasing consumer demand for immersive and shared experiences and the power of physical space in an ever more digitalised world.'
Stoneweg will look to further strengthen the Stoneweg Places & Experience team as it expands the platform across Europe.
