Spanish private real estate investor Drago has announced the hire of Germán López-Madrid as new head of acquisitions, effective this week.

López-Madrid joins from H.I.G Capital Private Equity where he worked as a senior investment manager for more than six years, analysing and executing transactions in Spain and Portugal. He has participated, among other transactions, in the acquisition of the Plaza Éboli shopping center in Madrid, two office buildings in the capital, 430 tourist apartments in Estepona and three residential buildings in Portugal.

‘With the help of an expert team with a proven track record, Drago will look for new investment opportunities that will continue to provide high levels of profitability for our shareholders,’ López-Madrid said.

As part of his new responsibilities, he will also join the board of directors of Azaria Rental Socimi, the firm managed by Drago and listed since 2018 on the MAB stock exchange.

Drago is a real estate investment and management platform that has been operating in Spain and Portugal since 2001. Since its inception, it has has launched and managed 17 investment vehicles encompassing more than 1,990 properties.
