US billionaire George Soros has emerged as the buyer of the Vivare residential portfolio in the Netherlands for around €53 mln.
Dutch residential broker ABC Capital, which conducted the sale on behalf of two private investors, initially announced the deal in January saying the package was bought from foreign investor QSP, a special purpose vehicle set up by Soros.
The portfolio of around 600 apartments is spread throughout the Netherlands, with the largest concentration in the Vredenburg district of Arnhem.
Vincent Walland, manager of residential Investments at ABC, said: ‘The high number of single-family dwellings led to increased enthusiasm from international investors. This portfolio fits well within the long-term strategy of the buyer.’
Closing of the deal is expected for March.
