Italian fund manager Sorgente has confirmed it is negotiating the acquisition of the historic Cinema Adriano building in the centre of Rome from Mediaport Cinema.
The property, which would be added to one of the group's property funds, is likely to trade for around €35 mln.
In a statement, Sorgente said the asset, located at Piazza Cavour, would continue to be operated independently as a cinema by a third party.
The acquisition is in line with Sorgente Group's focus on trophy assets of historic value. In 2009, the company also bought the iconic Galleria Colonna shopping gallery located at Via del Corso, and last year acquired Queensberry House in London.
