Swedish logistics property company SLP has purchased two PostNord logistics facilities in Hallsberg and Nässjö for approximately SEK 470 mln (€40.7 mln).
Under the deal, PostNord is leasing the properties back from SLP for seven years on annual rent exceeding SEK 33 mln.
The fully occupied properties, situated within the ‘Golden Triangle’ of Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, offer direct rail access. The Hallsberg property (Lilla Älberg 1:8) comprises approximately 26,000 m2, while the Nässjö property (Terminal 1) totals around 9,500 m2. Both sites have potential for future expansion.
Tommy Åstrand, CEO of SLP, said: ‘We are pleased to be able to acquire two strategically located and fully leased properties from PostNord. The properties are positioned to play an important role in the future of sustainable freight transport. It is in line with the European Green Vision to transform the transport sector by moving a significant amount of goods from road to rail. We welcome Postnord to SLP, and in addition to offering today’s attractive logistics facilities along important rail routes, we look forward to future expansion opportunities.’
SLP will finance the acquisition of these properties using existing capital, with the transaction expected to close before the end of the year. Completion is contingent upon the Swedish Inspectorate for Strategic Products’ review of the investment.
