The Green Day office building, developed by Skanska in Wroclaw, has won a Prime Property Award in the competition’s Green Building category.
The winners of the Prime Property Prize 2014 competition were announced on 22 September during the IV Property Forum’s evening gala.
Green Day in Wroclaw was officially commissioned for use in March 2014 and had been sold five months earlier to Investec GLL Global Special Opportunities Real Estate Fund, managed by Investec Bank and GLL Real Estate Partners. Before scheduled completion, its office area was 100% leased by the Credit Suisse Center of Excellence (CoE). Green Day is the only Credit Suisse office in Europe and is one of only four offices in the world with the CoE label. The centre employs 2,500 workers.
Green Day, located in the heart of Wroclaw, has a number of green features to reduce its impact on the environment. The building is equipped with systems that reduce both energy and water consumption. Regional products as well as recycled materials have been used for its development and finishing. The project is located close to public transport infrastructure which encourages commuting to work by bus or tram. For cyclists, bicycle parking bays and locker rooms with shower cubicles have been developed.
The Prime Property Prize is not the first award for Green Day. In 2013, the building was recognised by the business services sector, which gave it the CEE Outsourcing and Shared Services Awards 2013, for the best office building investment for tenants from this sector.
The building’s current owner is GLL Global Special Opportunities Real Estate Fund, managed by Investec Bank PLC and GLL Real Estate Partners.
