Swedish property and construction company Skanska has been awarded a total of €74m in contracts in Finland and Norway to build residential and PBSA housing.

In Finland, Skanska will build two new apartment buildings for €31 mln for the City of Helsinki.

The buildings will be six to twelve storeys high and will have a total of 148 apartments and 10,200 m2 of space. In addition, a four-storey parking garage will be built.

The buildings will be energy-efficient and environmentally friendly and will have rooftop solar panels. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q4 2023 and be completed in Q3 2025.

Skanska is also building new student housing for the Student Welfare Organization in Oslo, Norway, for NOK 513 mln (€ 43 mln).

The three buildings will extend over 18,000 m2 and offer a total of 462 student apartments.

Construction should start in Q1 2024 with completion scheduled for Q2 2026.

In a separate deal, Skanska Commercial Property Development has sold the Sthlm 04 office building in Stockholm, Sweden, to its internal portfolio company Skanska Investment Properties for SEK 830 mln (€70 mln).

Developed and built by Skanska, the property has a total leasable area of 12,400 m2 and is leased to about 90% of capacity.

The building is LEED Platinum-certified and is located in the Hammarby Sjöstad neighbourhood, which is being developed into a new creative business hub.

Skanska Fastigheter Stockholm has developed four office buildings in the Sthlm New Creative Business Hub area, with one more under construction (Sthlm 02) and two more planned (Sthlm 05 and Sthlm 06).
