Swedish developer Skanska has been contracted by Norwegian real estate manager KLP Eiendom to build an environmentally sustainable shopping centre in Oslo for NOK 920 mln (EUR 122 mln).
Swedish developer Skanska has been contracted by Norwegian real estate manager KLP Eiendom to build an environmentally sustainable shopping centre in Oslo for NOK 920 mln (EUR 122 mln).
The project is the first of its kind to be certified in compliance with a BREEAM NOR Outstanding rating, the highest attainable level. In addition to the shopping centre, the project includes a 36,000 m2 parking garage, 2,500 m2 of office space and four residential blocks with 78 apartments. A further 2,000 m2 of solar panels will be installed on the roof.
Construction will start in September 2012 and the shopping centre is expected to be ready for handover in September 2014. The apartments will be completed in March 2015.
Skanska Norway focuses on construction and civil engineering operations. It is also active in the development of residential and commercial properties as well asa public private partnerships (PPP) projects. The company has 4,200 employees reported revenue of SEK 12.5 bn in 2011.
