Construction and development group Skanska has sold an office building in Malmö, Sweden, for SEK 400 mln (EUR 42 mln), generating a capital gain of SEK 120 mln. The buyer is Svenska Vårdbostäder which will continue its operations as Executive Property Svenska. The transfer is scheduled to take place on 30 September.

The buyer is Svenska Vårdbostäder which will continue its operations as Executive Property Svenska. The transfer is scheduled to take place on 30 September.
The Hjälmarekajen property consists of two buildings, one of which was completed in 2006 and the other in 1978. The entire property was remodelled in 2006. Hjälmarekajen is almost fully let. Tenants include KPMG and Brio as well as White Architects, which designed the building.
'We see continued strong interest in modern, flexible and environmentally sound offices on Universitetsholmen in Malmö. These qualities and the central location attract both tenants and investors,' said Camilla Wieslander, Marketing and Transaction Manager at Skanska Öresund Malmö.
Skanska is also developing the first two phases of the new Bassängkajen office block on Universitetsholmen. In addition, the City of Malmö has selected Skanska to develop the new combined congress, concert and hotel complex including building rights for future offices and housing.
