Swedish property and construction company Skanska has won a SEK 730 mln (€64 mln) contract to build a new office and logistics center from Axis Communications at Brunnshög in Lund, Sweden.
The 27,000 m2 Opera office complex will be seven stories high and is being built next to Axis’ current office near the ESS and Max IV research facilities.
The Swedish network technology company will relocate its logistics center, currently located elsewhere in Lund, and add extra office space to accommodate growth.
The emphasis is on creating a pleasant working environment and long-term sustainability.
With green areas and a solar cell system on the roof, the goal is to obtain Miljöbyggnad Silver and Miljöbyggnad Gold energy certification.
Construction work will start after the summer and should be fully completed by the summer of 2026.
Skanska also secured a NOK 1 bn (€87.8 mln) contract to build a research centre in Oslo, Norway for Campus Ullevål, the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) and Aspelin Ramm.
The current parking space area will be transformed into a 36,000 m2 research center for climate, energy, environment, and engineering-related geosciences, featuring a lush, green square, public meeting places and activities for children.
Campus Ullevål will be one of the first buildings to be completed in Oslo new innovation district Science City.
The project will be environmentally certified in accordance with BREEAM NOR Excellent.
Construction will start in April 2023 and completion is scheduled for Q2 2026.
