Swedish construction giant Skanska on reported net profit of EUR 310 mln for the first nine months of 2007, up from up EUR 303.5 mln a year earlier. This translates in to earning per share of EUR 0.74, compared with EUR 0.72. Total revenues came in at EUR 10.8 bn, a rise of 15% on the year-earlier period. Group operating profit came in at EUR 407 bn, with construction accounting for EUR 343 mln, up 33% on the previous year.

In the nine months to end-September, Skanska disposed of commercial properties worth EUR 205.6 mln, generating capital gains of EUR 80.3 mln
Skanska said order bookings increased by 10% to 1EUR 11.9 bn in the period. Adjusted for currency effects, orders were up 14%. The company received orders worth EUR 3.26 bn in the third quarter, an increase of 9% on the year-earlier period. The total order backlog stood at EUR 15.95 at end September, the company said.
