Skanska has emerged ahead of 12 other bids to buy the highly attractive lot in Stockholm city centre which is perceived as one of the city’s most attractive development projects.

The deal price indicates a record of SEK 40,000 per m2, according to Swedish press reports.

Once completed, the project is expected to comprise two blocks representing a total of 41,000 m2 of mostly housing space with 300 apartments but also including educational premises, offices and services.

Broker Pangea advised the vendor, the Stockholm region, on the sale.

The disposal follows the relocation by the hospital in autumn 2020 to newly built premises in Hagastaden. The large hospital building, which is currently empty, will be demolished to make space for the new complex.
