Swedish property and construction company Skanska is investing CZK 1.1 bn (€45 mln) in a residential project in Prague, Czech Republic.

The 11,000 m2 Alfred residential building comprises of 179 one and two bedroom apartments across 10-storeys, targeting young couples, individuals and investors.

With a 2025 move-in date, Alfred is part of the second phase of the residential development project Emil Kolben Quarter in Prague.

The west side will feature a quiet courtyard full of greenery with benches for relaxation and work, while the east side will create a beautiful tree-lined promenade that will provide an ideal space for daily walks.

Skanska is installing roof photovoltaic panels that will power corridor lighting and apartment ventilation system.

Designed to receive the BREEAM environmental certification, the project aims to achieve 24% higher energy efficiency in comparison to a reference building.

The new urban district will also contribute to the improvement of the local microclimate through green roofs and public spaces, while rainwater retained in a storage tank will be used to water private front gardens.

Featuring rich amenities, the Emil Kolben Quarter is only three minutes from the Kolbenova metro and tram station.
