Stamart, based in Martin, has 100 employees and is active in central and western Slovakia. Its customers include KIA Motors and Peugeot/Citroen. Skanska already operates in Slovakia and it plans to strengthen its position in what it sees as a growing market by bundling Stamart with Skanska Czech Republic. Skanska's unit is the largest construction company in the Czech Republic and posted sales of about SEK 10 bn (EUR 1.1 bn) in 2005.
