Skanska and MT Højgaard have signed a contract with the City of Gothenburg to build a bridge over the river Göta älv.
The value of the contract amounts to around SEK 2 bn (€210 mln), of which Skanska's share is 70%, worth about SEK 1.4 bn (€150 mln).
The project is a turnkey contract and the bridge will become a so-called vertical-lift bridge of steel and concrete.
In addition to the bridge, the project includes a facility for tram transportation, new roads and connections, installation, machines and control systems for the bridge and also demolition of the old bridge. MT Højgaard is responsible for steel works including mechanics.
The construction is scheduled to start in January 2017 and the project should be completed by 2022.
