The assets were sold by a group of private investors. The combined lettable area of the portfolio is 50,000 sqm m2 and the assets are anchored by Finnish retail chains Tokmanni and Kesko.

Following this transaction Sirius has acquired more than 100 'necessity-driven retail assets' with a total lettable area of almost 400,000 m2 since early 2015.

'These assets complement our existing portfolio of grocery stores and necessity-driven retail very well and further strengthens the cooperation with both Kesko and Tokmanni. The acquired assets are modern retail properties in strong locations and have long lease agreements with the main tenants,' said Jonas Ahlblad, partner and chief investment officer at Sirius Capital Partners.

Ahlblad said that Sirius planned to carry out more acquisitions of this type of retail during the rest of 2016.

Sirius Capital Partners focuses on opportunistic and value-add real estate investments in Finland. Since inception in 2014, the firm has completed 20 transactions with a total value in excess of €400 mln.
