UK REIT Segro said on Wednesday that its French arm is adding two new business parks in de Ile-de-France region around Paris. The parks add to the 35,000 m[sup]2[/sup] Carré des Aviateurs in Blanc-Mesnil, Segro's first park in France.

UK REIT Segro said on Wednesday that its French arm is adding two new business parks in de Ile-de-France region around Paris. The parks add to the 35,000 m2 Carré des Aviateurs in Blanc-Mesnil, Segro's first park in France.

In a statement, the company said that the new Le Parc des Damiers in Courneuve has opened with an occupancy rate of 90%. The 11-hectare site was acquired in 2005 from Alstom Power and today provides some 50,000 m2 of space partially let to Alstom. The park is composed of 14 buildings of which three have just been delivered.

In Gonesse, Segro recently acquired a 14-hectare site to develop a park of up to 80,000 m2. Three buildings for a total of 20,000 m2 were delivered in November and are currently being marketed.

Segro's real estate portfolio in France has grown from EUR 170 mln in 2005 to EUR 550 mln at present. The company, which is mostly active in the office and logistics sectors, has recently opened an office in the country which is headed by Laurent Horbette. It is mostly active in Ile-de-France, Lyon and Marseille.
