Nordic financial services group SEB has scrapped plans to move to new premises in the Norra Djurgardsstaden district of Stockholm.

Taking into account its office space requirements and other associated costs, SEB has decided to stay put and upgrade its current premises where necessary.

The company’s workplace requirements fell from 7,600 to 6,800 during the review period while, at the same time, estimated construction costs rose.

Commenting on the decision, SEB CFO Jan Erik Back said: ‘We have less need for office space and rent has come down. It would be less efficient to build something new.'
