Schroders Capital has acquired full ownership of the leasehold grounds of a logistics park in Eindhoven in the southern Netherlands.
The grounds are located in the GDC Noord business park and encompass more than 500,000 m2, divided over eight plots. The site was purchased on behalf of one of Schroders’ real estate strategies.
GDC Noord is a major multi-use logistics site along the A2 highway in Eindhoven in direct vicinity of Eindhoven Airport, offering easy access to Dutch main ports and the surrounding borders of Germany and Belgium.
The site is a popular operating base for logistics and industrial businesses like Prologis, which is the biggest occupier. The ground leases in place have an average remaining lease term of 76 years.
Pieter Akkerman co-head of Schroders Capital Netherlands, commented: ‘An acquisition of this size, lease tenure and in such a location is unique within the Dutch logistics market. This is certainly a premium location within the logistics sector – surrounded by main roads and close to Eindhoven Airport.
‘With the international expertise of Schroders Capital, we will be able to continue to grow this strategy sustainably in the Netherlands, Germany and possibly other regions going forward.’
