Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport has signed an agreement with Chinamex for the development of a trade and exhibition centre near the airport. The centre will promote 1,000 to 1,500 Chinese firms that plan to trade in the EU.

While the project still requires planning approval and may take several years to complete, Schiphol's management expects the centre will have a turnover of about EUR 3 bn annually. Chinamex is a multinational company that works with the Chinese ministry of commerce. It operates a similar trade centre in Dubai.
