The logistics platform is currently occupied by Auchan Retail Logistique who will continue to operate from the building until the end of 2024.

At this time, Scannell plans to begin work to convert the building into an energy-efficient, flexible warehouse. The works will focus on a number of new initiatives designed to reduce the building's energy consumption by around 20-25%, including the installation of LEDs for more efficient lighting.

Once the works have been completed in the 2nd quarter of 2025, the logistics platform will be able to obtain BREEAM In Use certification.

Sitting on a 9.1 hectare site, there is also the potential to extend the current 34,250 m2 building by a further 13,700 m2.

'This is an ideal acquisition for us, one which fits perfectly with our strategy of renovating existing property stock, with a focus on brownfield redevelopment. The site ticks all the boxes that are important to us and our clients: a strategic location at the Port of Strasbourg, a railway junction for multimodal logistics activities, refurbishment with environmental certification and no agricultural land being developed,' said Hugues Desbarrières, Directeur Général Adjoint, France of Scannell Properties.

Scannell Properties was advised on the acquisition by Cushman & Wakefield.
