Property advisor Savills has recruited three directors who will comprise the initial core of its new cross-border European valuation team. The team consists of Nick Harris, previously of Colliers CRE; Simon Orr, who has transferred from Savill's Paris office and Chris Millington, who is joining Savills from DTZ in April.
William Newsom, head of valuation at Savills, said: 'We have been inundated with requests from UK and Irish-based clients who have interests in Europe, and we are therefore taking advantage of this flow of business. Our cross-border team will collaborate with our European offices and liaise closely with our London-based cross-border investment team.'
Newsom said Savills has advised a wide range of lending institutions, property companies and private individuals on various loan security valuations in the past 12 months. 'To date, the majority of our instructions have focused on Germany, although we have also been involved in projects in Portugal, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.' The European valuation team will work out of Savill's London headquarters.
