International real estate advisor Savills has recruited Monika Janczewska-Leja as head of retail advisory & transactions in Poland, in order to develop its retail property services in the CEE region.
Janczewska-Leja has 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, having worked in managerial positions at GTC, Immochan and Klépierre. Throughout her professional career she has advised on the commercialisation processes of retail schemes such as Sadyba Best Mall in Warsaw, Galeria Jurajska in Czestochowa, Galeria Kazimierz in Cracow and Novy Smichov in Prague.
'The recent changes in the Polish retail market, including the rapid growth of e-commerce and rising saturation levels in some regions, are calling for a new approach to the retail industry and a broader range of advisory services for both tenants and property owners,' said Tomasz Buras, managing director, Savills Poland.
'I am confident that Monika will provide the team and our clients with fresh insight and with a strong command of three foreign languages she will work closely with the Savills global retail platform to ensure the seamless delivery of cross-border retail projects.'
Savills' retail clients in Poland currently include Costa Coffee, Gravity, Komfort, North Food and LeCreuset. Retail schemes commercialised on an exclusivity basis include Boleslawiec City Center, Centrum Krakowska 61 (CK 61), Galeria Rumia, Kalinka Retail Park, Karpacka Retail Park, Morski Retail Park, Plac Vogla, Stalchemia Retail Park and convenience shopping centres owned by Arcona Capital Real Estate Poland.
'Savills is well known in Poland and I look forward to working alongside the team here as well as the wider retail network in Europe, Asia and the US to advise clients on their retail requirements,' concluded Janczewska-Leja.
