Markus Bartelmess has been put in charge of the real estate portfolio of the club deal special fund Savills IM Real Invest 1, which was launched for three German insurance companies.

The fund is invested in eight properties in seven German cities and currently has an investment volume of around €700 mln. Ownership of a Grade A office building in Munich has just been transferred to the fund, for which a purchase agreement was signed at the end of 2019. In addition, Bartelmess will support the logistics team, headed by Daniel Hohenthanner, in its further expansion.

Before joining Savills IM, Bartelmess worked for more than 12 years at UBS Real Estate, most recently in a leading position in asset management with a focus on the office and logistics sectors.

Nuri Örnek has been placed primarily in charge of a family office mandate comprising retail and office properties in Germany and Scandinavia.

In particular, he will focus on the German portfolio but will also work with the team in Scandinavia. Before joining Savills IM, Nuri spent almost 12 years at KGAL, where he most recently held a leading role in portfolio management with a focus on retail properties.

Gerhard Lehner, managing director at Savills IM, said: 'We are very pleased that we have been able to recruit two highly qualified new colleagues to our investment team in Markus and Nuri. They will lead the investment team’s work with the special fund and mandate, respectively and will have performance responsibility to the investors.

'With their wealth of experience, they already bring important core competencies with them and will further enrich our strong team. We are well positioned for the challenges of the coming years and for further growth, and we are looking forward to 2020 with great anticipation.'
