Broker Savills is expanding its industrial business line in Germany with the launch of a new team in Frankfurt.

Simon Hölldobler will be responsible for the development of the new department as director industrial land acquisition, starting from September. His main task will be the nationwide acquisition of commercial and industrial land.

Until recently, Hölldobler worked for Colliers International in Frankfurt, where he specialised in the acquisition and marketing of commercial and industrial space. He joined the company in 2015.

The news follows the establishment by Savills of industrial teams in Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Cologne.

'Due to the high demand for advice in the industrial sector, we are continuously expanding our industrial business line. Especially because of its central location in Europe, the logistics sector in Germany is of great importance. Furthermore, the past year has shown us how significant  the sector is for the domestic economy,' said Panajotis Aspiotis, managing director at Savills Germany. 'Our aim is to build strong industrial teams throughout Germany. With the new industrial land acquisition division, we can now provide users, developers and investors with our services during their strategic site planning process.'
