Savills, the UK-based property advisor, has opened a new office in Budapest, Hungary. The team will be headed by Peter Chatfield, who previously worked for Colliers in Prague and before that for Jones Lang LaSalle in Hungary and Poland.

The economy in Hungary has grown at well over 4% per year for several years and has attracted property investors from across Europe. Despite recent political pressures, demand from both investors and occupiers for the office market remains strong and this is expected to continue with rental rates remaining stable, Savills said.

'The office opening is a direct response to client interest in the area and is part of Savills continued drive into Central Europe. The Warsaw office opened two years ago and has since expanded to over 20 staff, we expect that the Hungary office will enjoy similar growth,’ the company said in a statement.

The Hungary office is located at East West Business Centre, Rakoczi u 1-3, Budapest. Peter Chatfield can be contacted at +36 (06) 1 235 7720.
