Real estate advisor Savills has appointed Marc López as director of capital narkets in its recently opened Barcelona office.
López has over 11 years of experience in the industry, holding different executive positions at Hines and the real estate branches of spanish commercial banks BMN and Banco Sabadell in their operations, marketing and investment advisory teams.
'Barcelona is attracting increasing volumes of cross-border investment and Marc’s extensive knowledge of the local market will allow us to strengthen our capital markets team both domestically in Spain and throughout Savills’ international network,' commented Arturo Díaz, head of Savills Barcelona.
According to Savills research, around 65% of Barcelona's transactional activity in the first three quarters of the year was cross-border, compared to just 31% for Madrid.
'Barcelona is very much on everyone’s radar as the Spanish economy shows a marked return to form,' López added.
Savills Barcelona also offers wider investment consultancy and asset management services; including valuations and project management, under Joan Gutés; and property management and office agency, led by Marie Laure Fenet.
