A world-famous building located on Rome’s central Via Veneto is about to come to the market with a guide price of over €76 mln, PropertyEU has learned.
Broker Cushman & Wakefield is understood to have been recruited to sell the former Café de Paris building, located at Via Veneto 90-96, on one of Italy's most elegant and expensive streets in the heart of the Italian capital.
The property became a symbol of the Italian ‘Dolce Vita’ lifestyle during the 1960s with filmmaker Federico Fellini's homonymous movie.
The building provides a total of 10,000 m2 of space with retail units on the ground floor and office accommodation on the upper floors. The asset has been vacant for several years and offers buyers an opportunity to carry out a full redevelopment to create a modern offering in a renowned location.
The asset is the third to be marketed by Cushman & Wakefield on the prestigious Via Veneto, following the sale of a fully refurbished building hosting Regus offices in the first quarter of 2020 which set a record prime yield for the city, as well as the sale of the Majestic hotel earlier this year, which is expected to receive binding offers by the end of May.
Designed by architect Gaetano Koch in 1889, the historic five-star hotel provides 98 rooms and suites, restaurant and a cocktail bar with terrace overlooking the world-renowned street. It is being marketed for over €100 mln.
