Vladimir Romanov, owner of Hearts football club in the UK, has invested some £20 mln (EUR 30 mln) to acquire the former head office of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in central Edinburgh. The Lithuanian entrepreneur, who bought the property from Morgan Stanley, said he is planning to refurbish it but did not disclose his further plans for the building.

The historic property was home to RBS until 2006, when the bank decided to move to a building on the western outskirts of Edinburgh. That deal involves the purchase of the 4,254 m2 building at 42 St Andrew Square and the adjacent 3,800 m2 premise at 38-52 West Register Street.
