Dutch commercial property company Merin has appointed Roel de Weerd as chief financial officer, effective 1 January 2014.

Dutch commercial property company Merin has appointed Roel de Weerd as chief financial officer, effective 1 January 2014.

De Weerd will form part of the company's senior management team, together with CEO Bas van Holten and CTO Rob Lith who were appointed in July.

Before joining Merin, De Weerd was CFO at Bouwinvest and prior to that he served as CFO of Annexum, CFO of Acteeum Group and CFO of Ahold Vastgoed.

Merin, formerly known as Uni-Invest, owns a portfolio of 200 office and industrial assets in the Netherlands and is owned by TPG and Patron.
