Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance has concluded an agreement with Dutch buy-to-let and mid-market CRE lending business RNHB for the transfer of the loan portfolio of PVF Zakelijke Hypothekenfonds, currently under Syntrus Achmea’s management and with an outstanding balance of €0.9 bn.

The closing of the transaction is expected to take place in March 2021.

Syntrus Achmea has been servicing this portfolio for over 15 years. As the investors in PVF decided to exit the CRE debt market, they instructed Syntrus Achmea to find a suitable purchaser for the portfolio.

RNHB is already active in the Dutch CRE debt market, and Syntrus Achmea said that it believes the expected transfer to RNHB is in the best interests of both its existing customer base as well as the investors.

The contemplated purchase of the loan portfolio fits well with RNHB’s strategy to continue to expand its business through organic growth and selective portfolio acquisitions. ‘RNHB is looking forward to welcoming the customers, continuing the relationship and considering opportunities to service their ongoing Dutch real estate lending needs,’ the firm said in a statement.
