Rezidor Hotel Group has announced that its 190-room Park Inn in the Russian city of Tula will open in the first quarter of 2011. The addition of the Park Inn Tula will bring Rezidor's holdings in Russia and the CIS countries to 38 hotels and more than 9,500 rooms in operation or under development.

'This new signing strengthens our leading position in Russia/CIS', said Kurt Ritter, president & CEO of Brussels-based Rezidor. 'We were an international pioneer in this market and still see a lot of potential there.'

Tula is located 150 kilometres south of Moscow. The city's most popular tourist attraction is Yasnaya Polyana, the home and burial place of writer Leo Tolstoy. Tolstoy wrote both War and Peace, and Anna Karenina in Tula.
