International real estate investor-developer Redevco said on Tuesday that it has appointed Javier Hortelano and Eric van Dyck as co-chief operating officers (COO) to reflect an increased focus on its core European markets.
Similarly, Judith Dröge has joined the board as chief human resources officer (CHRO). The appointments will take effect on 1 January 2012.
The appointments follow the resignation last week of COO Jaap Gillis and Asian managing director Robert Lie. The company announced at the time that it was planning to temporarily withdraw from the Asian market.
Hortelano joined Redevco in 2004 as managing director of Redevco Spain/Portugal. In his new role he will be responsible for operations in Spain/Portugal, France and Central and Eastern Europe. Eric van Dyck, managing director of Redevco Belgium since 2010, will be responsible for Belgium and the Netherlands. Redevco's CEO Andrew Vaughan will be responsible for the UK, Germany and Turkey.
Redevco manages one of the largest retail portfolios in Europe, currently valued at EUR 7.5 bn. The company is owned by Cofra Holding, a Swiss-based holding company.
