European real estate company Redevco has redeveloped the C&A store in the Alexandrium shopping centre in Rotterdam. The space was reopened on 7 September.

An extra retail level of 1,100 m2 was added to the C&A store as part of the revamp, bringing the total sales area to 3,100 m2 spread over two floors. The façade and outer walls were completely renovated and the energy performance of the building improved from an E label to a (draft) A label.

The store was given a completely new second sales floor at C&A's initiative and in close cooperation with Noordwijk-based architects Architectenbureau Van Manen and Bunnik-based construction firm J.P. van Eesteren. Construction work started in February 2012 and was completed at the end of August.

Redevco is an independent real estate company, managing and developing one of the largest retail portfolios in Europe, valued at EUR 7.1 bn.
