The Slovakian subsidiary of Redevco Central Europe has purchased almost 30,000 m2 of land in Bratislava for a retail development. The plot was sold for an undisclosed sum by the Slovakian subsidiary of Generali Immobilien on 1 January.

The site, just a few hundred metres from the Austrian border, is next to the Carrefour Danubia shopping centre. 'The location is an excellent site for further retail development, not only due to its proximity to the Danubia shopping centre, but also because of the very large catchment area in southwest Bratislava,' said Jorg Bitzer, managing director of Redevco Central Europe in Vienna.

Redevco Europe is headquartered in the Netherlands and owns one of the largest retail real estate portfolios in Europe.
