Laning will help drive the diversification of Redevco’s portfolio across property sectors and its investment strategies in the transformation of mixed-use urban areas. Additionally, she will be harnessing the latest innovations with regard to the future of real estate.

Thierry Cahierre will succeed Laning in the role of co-head client & fund management also reporting to CEO Andrew Vaughan.

In this new capacity Cahierre will be fund director for the portfolios of one of Redevco’s key clients, representing €4.9 bn from Redevco’s total of about €6.7 bn in assets under management.

In addition, he will continue to lead the global asset & development management function, Redevco's response to the issue of making cities more sustainable and liveable by unlocking the value of existing buildings.

Andrew Vaughan, CEO Redevco said: 'We could not be more pleased with Marrit accepting this new position in our Redevco Board.

'Marrit has been a long-time colleague and with the city attractiveness tool she stood at the basis of our successful research-based acquisition and divestment strategies, consistently upgrading the portfolios we manage on behalf of our investor clients.

'I am equally pleased to have Thierry take on the position of co-head client and fund management and at the same time continue to lead our global asset and development function.
'As former managing director of France he was responsible for iconic, award-winning urban regeneration projects and this experience will be crucial to successfully repurpose existing buildings and future-proof the portfolios we manage.'

Laning said: 'I am excited to support and guide further diversification of our portfolios and the retail transition, where we have probably more broad-based experience than any other investment manager in Europe, through solid strategies, research and introducing leading edge innovation. These are clearly going to be the main themes in my new and exciting role on the board.'

Cahierre commented: 'It is a great responsibility to be fund director of the proprietary portfolios, which make up for almost 75% of our current assets under managements, and to be able to transform them to be much more diversified, mixed-use and sustainable.'
