Real IS, the property arm of German lender BayernLB, has appointed Giulia Peretti as ESG officer with effect from 1 June.
Peretti has many years of experience in sustainability and certification and is a German Sustainable Building Council (DNGB) auditor and expert in sustainable building. In her newly created position, she will deal with coordinating sustainability and ESG issues at corporate and product levels and will report directly to the management board.
Jochen Schenk, chairperson of the management board at Real IS said: ‘Sustainability is a topic that will be of fundamental importance to investors and investment fund service providers in the coming years. Real IS has already implemented a lot of key measures in this field.

Peretti started her career at a number of architectural firms, including Werner Sobek, where she was later promoted to team leader for sustainability, construction physics and certification.
Since then she has focused on various sustainability topics in construction, such as decarbonisation, energy efficiency, sustainable building materials and the circular economy.
Her work has also included sustainability certification and the comprehensive integration of sustainability at the planning stage. In addition to her professional commitment to this field, Peretti has published several articles in recognised specialist media on the subject of sustainability.
