Real IS, the property arm of German lender BayernLB, has strengthened its French team with the appointment of investment manager Alexandre Guignard.
Based in Paris, Guignard will oversee the company's investment and sales strategy, and has also joined the Real IS group’s investment management department, which is headed by Axel Schulz, global head of investment management.
Guignard has been working in the investment industry for 19 years. He most recently served as investment director at Anru’s co-investment fund, after a spell as investment associate director at Patrizia Immobilien.
'We are actively looking to intensify our investments in France because we are convinced of the growth prospects of the French real estate market,' said Schulz.
'The appointment of Alexandre Guignard as investment manager in Paris reflects the growing role the French real estate market plays in the Real IS group’s overall strategy. In recent years, the impressive growth of our French subsidiary has been driven largely by Catherine Luithlen, President of Real IS France.
'In order to do exploit the French office’s further growth potentials, Alexandre Guignard has now been appointed to provide valuable support to our French team,' Schulz concluded.
