Deepak Gupta, an experienced commercial property solicitor based in Kent, UK, has joined the real estate team of consultancy firm Excello Law.
Gupta was formerly a partner at Thomson Snell & Passmore.
He has extensive experience in dealing with commercial property sales and purchases, all aspects of non-contentious landlord and tenant work, advising on portfolio asset and estate management and on the property aspects of corporate transactions. A particular strength is NHS GP surgery leases, surgery developments and other NHS property-related matters.
Founded in 2009, Excello Law claims to be one of the first law firms in the UK to pioneer true agile or flexible working.
It says its model provides a more dynamic and independent environment for its lawyers by offering administrative, compliance and technological support, which reduces overhead costs. The firm has 130+ partner-level lawyers and a network of 10 offices across the UK. It acquired its licence as an Alternative Business Structure in 2013.
On joining the firm, Gupta commented: ‘Being a consultant lawyer gives me the flexibility that I need to balance my work and home life without the pressure of chargeable hours and billing targets. It also gives me the autonomy to choose the type of work I want to do, when I want to do it and how much to charge for it.’
