RE Capital, a European investment, development and asset management company, said this week that it has obtained a building permit for its flagship industrial and logistics Rrubix project, located in Meyrin-Satigny (Zimeysa) in Geneva, Switzerland.
The project will convert 47,000 m2 of two former factory buildings into a multi-modular, high-tech, eco-efficient facility.
Designed by de Giuli & Portier architects, construction on Rubix is planned to begin in the summer of 2022. Swiss construction company HRS has been appointed as the main works contractor.
Olivier Hezelot, head of Europe at RE Capital, said: ‘This sizable new industrial project in Meyrin-Satigny will be a cutting-edge scheme that serves as the benchmark for modern construction in light industrial and logistics spaces. We believe that this iconic project will fit the local market’s current demand for modern and flexible spaces in a way that is unmatched in Geneva and will enhance even further the attractivity of this zone. This project consolidates RE Capital’s commitment to the Geneva economy.’
Johannes Gerzain, lead project manager for RE Capital, said: ‘This flagship project is part of RE Capital’s investment strategy in Switzerland and is an excellent example of the kind of spaces we want to create for the local market here as we do elsewhere in the UK and Portugal.’
RE Capital is a privately owned, Pan-European property investment, asset and development management business, employing teams in London, Lisbon and Geneva.
