UAE property developer Rakeen is showcasing its Uptown Tbilisi mixed-use development in the Georgian capital Tbilisi at the Mapic retail trade fair currently taking place in Cannes, France. It is the first time Rakeen is taking part in the exhibition.

UAE property developer Rakeen is showcasing its Uptown Tbilisi mixed-use development in the Georgian capital Tbilisi at the Mapic retail trade fair currently taking place in Cannes, France. It is the first time Rakeen is taking part in the exhibition.

The development includes a luxurious shopping mall, four ultra-modern residential towers, two 36-storied office towers and a 2,500 m2 RAK Ceramics showroom. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by December 2008. The project is one of three mixed-use projects in Georgia that Rakeen is involved in, at a total cost of more than AED 5.5 bln.

The company will also showcase the Tbilisi Heights residential and business complex, the RAK Convention Center in Ras Al Khaimah, and the mixed-use complex in Isfahan, Iran.

Naji Nassar, Uptown Tbilisi's project manager said: 'We are eager to showcase this prestigious development at the Mapic exhibition in France, and we are certain that this project will generate substantial interest among the thousands of visitors and investors attending the event from around the world.'

Rakeen is set to develop and manage several key projects in Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE and overseas, including the Al Marjan Island, RAK Financial City, Gateway City, Al Hamra Amenity Centre, Jabal Al Jais and Banyan Tree Resort in Ras Al Khaimah. Many major Rakeen projects are also coming up in Africa, Iran, India and Georgia.
