German construction group Hochtief is teaming up with the Qatari government's real estate investment unit in a new property services and construction joint venture to carry out green projects in the developing world. The partnership will focus on construction services including knowledge exchange, project management and best practice.
Qatari Diar said that the joint venture will bring sustainable projects into developing regions in the Middle East, North Africa, and worldwide. Qatari Diar's CEO Ghanim Bin Saad Al-Saad added: 'We look forward to creating a construction joint venture that will further enhance Qatari Diar's leadership in developing sustainable, community focus real estate investment projects around the world.'
Over the past months Qatari Diar has announced a number of new sustainable development projects in Yemen, the Seychelles, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, and Egypt. The Qatari group recently formed a joint venture with Vinci Construction Grand Projects (VCGP), an international design and construction firm with a presence in the Middle Eastern region. Qatari Diar has also established a joint venture with NorthCourse, a global leisure real estate consulting and asset management company.
